The Founder of Calm River Demographics
Richard Miller is founder and president of Calm River Demographics. He has over 15 years of administrative experience in heath, human services, government and non-profit organizations.
He currently focuses on empowering individuals and organizations to find simple – and hopefully elegant - solutions to complex demographic analysis / mapping and technology problems.
Mr. Miller has a passion for mapping, demographic data and teaching others to become self-empowered data researchers. Mr. Miller has taught over 3,500 individuals in 30 states to perform detailed demographic studies.
Mr. Miller has developed custom database and mapping applications for a wide variety of organizations ranging from governmental entities and non-profit organizations to large engineering and architecture firms.
He has authored over 150 federal, state and local grants resulting in awards of over $18 million dollars. He also designed and implemented the charitable giving activities of a private foundation.
Mr. Miller was selected three times by the United States Department of Commerce to evaluate technology proposals for the National Telecommunications and Information Infrastructure program.
On a personal note, Richard has served on the boards of several community and non-profit organizations, coached numerous youth sports teams and served as a Scoutmaster. He and his family love to canoe and kayak on a Calm River ~
